I recently came across this quote…
“The New year is like a blank book, the pen is in your hands, it is your chance to write a beautiful story for yourself.”-Author Unknown
As we begin the new year, we all have a choice to make about what story we will write for ourselves. The story that we chose to write depends on the attitude that we approach our story with. Last week as I was studying and learning about the impact of approaching situations with the right attitude I came across the teachings of the late Dr. Myles Munroe and I found so much wisdom in his teachings.
Since I started this journey many people have asked what made me want to start blogging. At first, my initial response was, I needed a hobby, something to have for some me time. But now as I reflect on the past two months and as I start the new year and have a blank book in front of me, I think I want to write that story differently.
In Dr. Munroe’s video, The Power of Attitude, he compares leaders to lions. He studied the nature and the attitude of lions. He states that the lion is not the tallest, largest, heaviest or smartest animal in the jungle. However, the lion is the King of the jungle because of his attitude and that attitude is a product of his belief. The lion is the King of the jungle because of what he believes about himself.
I want to write my story this year with a different attitude. Inspired by another famous quote from Dr. Myles Munroe.
“Leadership is the capacity to influence others through inspiration motivated by passion, generated by vision, produced by a conviction, ignited by a purpose.”Dr. Myles Munroe
This year I want to seek to find inspiration motivated by my passions; my faith, my marriage, my kids, my health and wellness as well as my passion for fashion. I want to share my convictions and believe that I was led to do this and ignited by a greater purpose.
My word of the year is ATTITUDE. I want to approach this year with an attitude backed by a belief system that I can do whatever I set my mind to do. So, here is to 2019, being a lion and a blank book to write a beautiful story.
